Breezing past winter

You know that summer is drawing to a close when you place your order for next spring’s bulbs…or at least I do.

Ads for school clothes?  Big yellow buses everywhere?  Needing a sweatshirt when you go out at night?  Pah.  Ordering your fall bulbs, that’s where it’s at.

And, it’s even better when you have a coupon (Thanks Mom!)- I guess us Midwesterners are just frugal that way.

So I ended up ordering some daffodils and grape hyacinth (see pics below) for our front walk.  I’m hoping that little early burst of color will help get me through the ugly late winter Wisconsin slump next year.  After that, it should be an easy downhill slide into summer!
